TRIBUTES poured in as friends and family said farewell to devoted family man Gary Pearce.
The 35-year-old died at the wheel of his Porsche when he was involved in a three-car accident on the B4069 near Christian Malford last week, and his life was celebrated at a funeral in St Mary's Church, Chippenham, on Thursday.
Fellow Porsche enthusiasts attended the service and five Porsche cars escorted the hearse to the church. Afterwards the burial took place at Christian Malford parish church.
Mr Pearce, of Station Road, Christian Malford, who leaves a son, Jules, two and a widow, Gina, was described as a devoted family man.
He was a former RAF engineer and worked for Sky News in London. He was a member of Chippenham Round Table and a supporter of the Porsche Club of Great Britain.
Brett Conway, the chairman of Chippenham Round Table, and a close personal friend, led the tributes.
He said: "Gary was an popular man, and will be greatly missed. All the people he came in contact with considered him their friend, he had a cheerful, positive, upbeat attitude to everything in life. He approached everything with 100 per cent commitment. Gary was a diamond geezer."
An inquest in Salisbury heard on Friday that Mr Pearce died from a traumatic head injury. The inquest was adjourned for two months.
