SO it's Hereford United in the next round of the FA Cup.

I must admit I'm heartily bored of seeing those clips of the game where Messrs George and Radford scored to put Newcastle out of the competition all those years ago.

The match was marred by disgraceful scenes.

Have you noticed the appalling flares worn by those who invaded the pitch?

Seriously though, a home tie against a non League side has to be seen as a great chance to progress (conveniently forgetting Stevenage here).

While acknowledging Hereford's win over Wrexham at the weekend, the win was hardly a case of the underdog battering the favourite.

The Wrexham strikers would have had grave difficulty in striking a cow's posterior with a banjo and the Edgar Street outfit had a huge slice of luck.

So please, let's not start panicking just yet.

If we have a fully fit, fully prepared squad, then we must be confident of getting through.

Perhaps the cup Gods are smiling on us. Two home draws in a row.

Hands up how many of you shuddered when Canvey Island came out of the hat? In fact, the draw itself is torture. You want to hear your team's name called but at the same time you don't.
