YOUTH FOOTBALL: CHIPPENHAM Town continued their domination of the Wiltshire FA County Floodlight League with victories over local rivals Corsham Town and Calne Town.
Colin Bush's side made it three wins out of three over a tough Calne line-up on Monday night when they clinched a 4-3 victory at Hardenhuish Park.
The hosts began well against the side they had knocked out of the cup little more than a week previously and raced into a two-goal lead inside 15 minutes.
Jason Walsh set them on their way and Tommy Laver netted the second from the spot after a foul on Gary Banks.
Calne pulled one back before the break, but strikes from Banks and Daniel Lardner gave Chippenham a comfortable three-goal lead.
Two late errors from goalkeeper Liam Bell gave Calne a lifeline, but the home side held on to register their 11th win of the campaign.
Goals from Walsh, Banks, Laver and Ryan Bush helped the young Bluebirds to a comprehensive 4-1 win over Corsham on Thursday night.
Manager Bush is delighted with his top-of-the-table outfit.
He said: "Everyone wants to beat them and they are under a lot of pressure. There are some hard games to come, but we've played 12 so we are over halfway there."
The youth team travel to Bemerton for their final game of 2001 next Thursday night.
