YOUTH FOOTBALL: LAVINGTON Boys claimed a 3-0 win in their match against FC Chippenham in the under 17s division of the Wiltshire Times and News Mid-Wilts Youth and Minor League.
They took the lead after 20 minutes when Phil Dodgeson knocked a 30 yard through ball to James Cullip to run onto and hit a good strike into the back of the net.
Ten minutes into the second half midfielder Scott Clarke came on and set up Dodgeson who once again played it long for Adam Slater to score with an excellent strike.
Substitute Mike Gregory secured their victory with a third goal five minutes after coming on.
Under 16s Red Division
CRICKLADE Youth remain second in the table following their away game against Calne Town Youth.
After a very even first half, which ended 1-1, Cricklade dominated the second half, going on to win 6-1 with a hat-trick from Ben Carter and additional goals from Tom Green, Richard Stubbs and Jack Humphreys.
Home side Broughton Gifford kept the first half tight denying opponents FC Chippenham 2nds any chances. Broughton Gifford's first goal was a 30 yard volley. In the second half Broughton kept up the pressure and scored two more against one from a free kick for Chippenham leaving the final score at 3-1 for Broughton's first win of the season.
Alex Pratley, Jonathan McChesney and Olie Gee scored for Broughton with Gary Robins replying for Chippenham.
Two second half goals were enough to give home side Pewsey Vale all three points against Trowbridge FC. After a fairly even first half, Pewsey applied more second half pressure and were soon 1-0 up through Ollie White. Pewsey continued to press gaining a second through Tom Last.
Under 15s Blue Division
IN their top of the table clash Bath Arsenal remain on top following the narrowest of victories against FC Chippenham.
Chippenham were denied many chances throughout the game by some superb goalkeeping from Jez and their stout defence.
Bath caught Chippenham out several times on the break and eventually made it count ten minutes from the final whistle when Josh Brigham squared the ball to Ashley Isaac in the six yard box for him to blast the ball past the goalkeeper.
Under 15s Red Division
SALISBURY Juniors staged an amazing second half comeback to take all three points in their game against visitors Malmesbury Youth.
A high scoring first half saw the visitors take a 4-3 lead, but Salisbury drew level early in the second half then went on to finish 7-4 victors. Salisbury's goals came from C Coombs (3), G Martin (2) and L Cox (2).
Leaders Corsham Boys took a 1-0 lead early on in their game against Trowbridge Town Youth 2nds. Trowbridge held back Corsham until the last ten minutes when Corsham secured their victory with two more goals to finish 3-0 winners.
Shaw and Whitley are just four points behind the leaders, with two games in hand, following their 6-1 home win against Pewsey Vale, with Struan Howett scoring for Pewsey.
Under 14s Blue Division
MARCO Neal put Castle Combe Colts 1-0 up in the first minute against Trowbridge Town Youth in a top of the table clash.
The game was very tight throughout, but ten minutes before half-time Trowbridge were back on course with an equaliser. Minutes later Castle Combe regained the lead at 2-1 with a second for Neal. The second half failed to produce any goals but did produce some excellent football, prompting match referee Derek Leppard to congratulate both teams for a first class game of football.
Westinghouse Youth moved up to mid-table following their 4-0 away win against Durrington Rangers.
Under 14s Red Division
BEMERTON Heath Harlequins remain unbeaten at the top following their 7-2 away win against Devizes Town Youth.
The run of play went all Bemerton's way in the first half, seeing them go in 5-0 up at the interval. The second half developed into a more even contest with both sides scoring two apiece. Bemerton saw goals from Liam Hynes (3), Tom Crowley and Tom Sanger (3), with Ashley Edwards and Mark White replying for Devizes.
Chippenham Town Rangers move up into second in the table following their 6-0 away win against local rivals FC Chippenham.
Under 13s
ALISTAIR Smith scored Pewsey Vale's consolation goal in their home game with Calne Town, who ran riot by scoring nine.
White Horse Leisure fell to yet another heavy defeat and praise was heaped on their goalkeeper by the Corsham United manager. Jake Marshall led the goal spree with six goals, followed by Aaron Neal (3), Zac Sully (2), Tom Knight, Michael Clarke, Tom Wheeler, Ben Morris and Craig Taylor as the Corsham side ran out 16-0 winners.
Melksham Park found themselves 5-1 up at half-time away to Corsham Boys and eventually ran out 9-2 winners. Danny Kovacs (5), Matthew Humphreys (2), Mattie Sharp and Shaun Fordham scored for the winners, with Ross Lye scoring both goals for a gallant Corsham side.
Jamie Davis (2) and Tim Rowson scored for Castle Combe Colts as they returned from Chippenham Town Rangers with all three points despite Sam Jones scoring for the hosts.
Devizes Town fought off the challenge of FC Chippenham and got home by the odd goal in five. A brace from George Crotty kept the visitors in the hunt but strikes from Tom Slater, Patrick Preece and Nic Eastham secured the points for the hosts.
Chippenham Town travelled to Westbury Youth and held a 2-0 half-time lead, with goals from Daniel Clements and John McElhinney. Clements and Stefan Klukowski scored in the second period as did Jonathan Burgess for the home team leaving the final score 4-1 to the visitors.
Under 12s
CALNE Town ran up the highest score of the day with a 23-0 win over Melksham Park B.
Ross Crichton (6), Matthew Lewis (5), Luke Bennett (4), Daniel Fidgett (3), Jack Trowbridge (2), Simon Crangle (2) and John Summers scoring the goals.
A lone Jack Case goal was not enough to stop Lavington Boys going down 6-1 at Corsham Boys, who scored through Darren Applegate (2), James Morrisson, Henry Badenoch, James Warner and Shaun Cartwright.
Luke DiMaria (3), James Hounsell (2) and Tom Dignan scored for Frome Collegians as they won 6-3 against Crescent Park Rangers, who replied through Sam Bliss, Jack Wooling and Ryan Stockley.
Jay Pinnell's consolation goal for Warminster Highbury was their only reward as Westinghouse Youth ran out 7-1 winners.
Devizes Town continued their challenge for honours with a 15-1 away win at Castle Combe Colts. James Muir and Aaron Rowles both hit four and Glenn Appleton and Simon Oldham bagged braces. Other goals came from Daniel Ottaway, Daniel Sainsbury and Liam McEnry.
Under 11s
MELKSHAM Park B had the perfect start against Castle Combe Colts White when Patrick Gardiner scored from the penalty spot early on.
Later goals from Nat Jansen and Oliver Ballinger secured a 3-1 victory.
White Horse Leisure and Devizes Town shared the spoils in an eight-goal thriller at Calne. Jon Hemmings and a Craig Berry hat-trick registered for the home side, with Jacob Wrobell (2), Matthew Tilley and Kyle Davies replying for Devizes.
Under 10s Division Two
THE match between Trowbridge Wanderers and Corsham Boys Blue produced marvellous performances from both teams resulting in a 5-5 draw.
Corsham took the lead four times, with a splendid hat-trick from Jack Vesey and other goals from Lee Marshall and Luke Poulton.
Under 10s Division Three
FC CHIPPENHAM took a 4-0 lead at the break in their away game against Westbury Youth.
Westbury improved in the second half, getting back in the game with a goal from Robert Ashwell. Despite some good work and fine moves Westbury could not add to their tally while Chippenham managed to score three more to leave the final score at 7-1 to the visitors.
Under Nines Division Three
CORSHAM United gained a 10-0 win over FC Chippenham.
Sam Thomson, Will Spence and Kieran Tinsell (3) scored in the first half. Spence and Sam Thomson completed their hat-tricks in the second half and substitute Paul Jenkins completed the scoring.
Congratulations should be awarded to the referee, Nathan Smith, as this was his first game after qualifying just days prior to the game.
