MEMBERS of Urchfont Sewing Group are hoping to raise more than £3,000 for needy children.
Its craft fair at the village hall this Saturday will benefit the Chernobyl Children's Link, the Danbi Children's Trust and the Motor Neurone Disease Society.
There will be many stalls selling all kinds of craftwork, and the event is expected to draw people from as far away as Bath, Salisbury and Winchester.
One of the organisers, Vera Nelson, said: "We are quite confident of raising at least £3,000.
"We have done it before and raised quite a lot of money.
"Last year we raised more than £3,600 for the Naomi House children's hospice.
"We hope as many people as possible will come along. There will be plenty to see and I'm sure a lot of Christmas presents can be ticked off from items bought on the stalls."
The group hopes to hand over cheques for at least £1,000 each to the three charities on Friday December 21 at the Kings Arms in Market Lavington.
