DEVIZES could be in for a fit of the giggles in the run-up to Christmas as part of a joint initiative between Devizes Development Partnership and Kooky the Clown.
Kooky, from Easterton, was on the streets last week handing out 100 giggle notes as part of a plot to flood the town with up to one million giggles.
He said: "I saw something like this in America a few years back and I always wanted to do it here. We approached a number of local businesses to support it. What happens is when you make a purchase in any of the participating shops, you are entitled to claim a sweet surprise."
Parents can get something free for their children in exchange for one of the special giggle notes in the shops taking part.
The Giggle notes can be redeemed at Alex's Pound World in Maryport Street, Rangebourne Pet Care in New Park Street, Farrago in Sidmouth Street, Cooks in High Street, Scholars in the Little Brittox, Lee's jewellers in Maryport Street, The Sports Shop in the Brittox, Devizes Dog Parlour in Monday Market Street, St John's Art and Dcor in St John's Street, The Stationery Cupboard in the Market Place, Devizes Motor Panels in Sidmouth Street and Pins & Needles at Wharfside.
