AT first I must congratulate those staff who are keen to learn sign language in Asda Wal-Mart.
But one thing I must disapprove of is that a hearing tutor taught sign language to the staff.
I felt that it should be a deaf tutor to teach sign language because it is our (deaf people's) language not hearing people's.
I think that all staff should have deaf awareness training first before they learn the sign language etc.
I think that the best way to learn sign language is to go to college where courses are available or to ask your deaf friends. I am sure they will be able to help you.
I am studying to become a tutor to teach deaf awareness and sign language as well. I hope to teach these at my work place and who knows where else. So keep up the good work and fingers crossed for other stores (Tesco, Sainsbury, Safeway, Co-op) to follow it.
