IS this yet another example of the saying "Fools rush in etc," concerning North Wiltshire District Council?
I refer to the report in the November 15 edition of the Gazette regarding the cycleway bridge plan being dropped as too costly.
I would like to ask however why the newly adopted scheme which seems to have much to recommend it, particularly the possible creation of a local nature reserve was not the first option to begin with?
Perhaps new information has been forthcoming since the original bridge scheme was first decided upon.
More likely it is a matter of a cash-strapped council with its liberal spendthrift policies now having to consider every possibility of making savings.
As council tax payers we ultimately have to foot the bill, so I think we deserve a full explanation.
