LEADERS Bradford consolidated their posoiton at the top of the Dorset and Wilts North Division with this huge vistory over Pewsey, who started the game with only 12 men and finished with only 112.
Bradford's objective was getting as high a score as possible for the benefit of the points difference calculations, and from the first whistle they played an open game with nothing else in mind.
First on the board was second row Chris Powell, who set the pattern of the game, with the forwards creating space and overlaps as well as the backs.
Tries came thick and fast throughout the first half tries, with Geraint Thomas, Ben Butterworth, Dan Tozer, Mark Roberts (2), Ben Hurley, and Julian Tucker all touching down.
The second half restarted as the first had ended, the open play stretching Pewsey far and wide, whose predicament was made worse by the loss of a forward 20 minutes into the half, depleting their scrum to five men.
Scores in this half were from Ben Hurley (3), who deputised at fly half and created many breaks, enabling further scores to develop. Mark Roberts broke through to score under the posts and prop Bradley Wilson opened his account of the season with a 50 yard dash Further scores came from Ben Butterworth and Tom Schweitzer.
Pewsey Vale made many incursions into the Bradford half, through their experienced pack players, but lacked the numbers to convert this into points.
At the final whistle Bradford could only give a great deal of respect to a brave opposition, who stuck at their task despite knowing the odds from the outset.
