PHOTOGRAPHER Ed Whiting's passion for diving has completely changed the way he works.
For five years, Mr Whiting, who lives near Westbury, has specialised in underwater photography and has travelled all over the world in the name of art.
His work, which has received recognition from the Royal Photographic Society, and was highly commended at the Image 2001 competition, goes on show in Bradford on Avon this weekend.
Mr Whiting, who runs his own company, From the Blue, said: "I have a background in diving and it felt natural to take the camera with me.
"There is a totally different set of rules for working underwater. The equipment is very complicated and you have to be very familiar with it before you can go in."
He regularly swims with sharks and other sealife but says providing you have the right attitude there is not a problem.
Mr Whiting said: "There have been a couple of occasions where the sharks have got very friendly, but their reputation is inaccurate.
"Sharks respect you, providing you respect them and treat them like any wild creature."
His photographs are being exhibited at the Silver Street Gallery in Bradford on Avon on Sunday, where his work is sold.
The exhibition is sponsored by Red or White in Trowbridge, and Aqua Leisure in Melksham.
