I AM writing this letter on behalf of College Estate residents hoping that West Wilts District Council and Trowbridge Town Council will read it just one more time, reference safety for men, women and children.
College Road is one of the most dangerous roads in Trowbridge. We have two schools and a college on this road. College people are allowed to park their cars on the bends at the college. At least once a month someone crashes at this bend. There are no speed restrictions at all, so people from the college and elsewhere show off by speeding along this road.
There are no crossings to help children cross the road to school they take their lives in their hands sometimes, just to get there. On November 6 there was an accident in College Road, two cars going very fast crashed and left at least 60ft skid marks on the road.
One of the cars hit a woman pushing a pram. She was not seriously hurt, but she could have been.
Also, while there are traffic lights along Frome Road, heavy vehicles are using College Road as a short cut from Frome Road to Bradley Road, putting extra dangers on College Estate.
Please don't wait until someone gets killed before you do something about it.
DANNY HALLETT,
Beech Grove,
College Estate,
Trowbridge.
