Three people have been arrested and released on police bail over alleged deception on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

Million-pound winner Major Charles Ingram, 38, and his wife Diana, 37, were arrested at their home in Wiltshire. They were told to report to police again next month.

College lecturer Tecwen Whittock, 51, from Cardiff, was also arrested and told report to police again in February.

They were all questioned about conspiracy to defraud after a probe by Scotland Yard's Special Inquiry Team.

Royal Engineer Major Ingram's jackpot win has been under investigation since September.

Programme maker Celador was concerned about coughing in the audience when he scooped the top prize.

Major Ingram has not received his prize money and his appearance has never been broadcast.

His wife Diana, who wrote a book about winning the ITV show, made £32,000 when she appeared on the quiz.

Celador refused to comment on the arrests
