Hellenic Division 1 side Purton face what could be one of their toughest games of the season so far when they visit Winterbourne United on Saturday.
The home side have been beaten just twice from 11 games and are in third spot, a place below the Red House side with a couple of games in hand.
"It's a big game for us," said Purton boss Alan Clarke. "I would be happy with a point, but three would be great.
"It's a big test to see if we are good enough to be in second spot. We have been playing really well the last couple of weeks, so perhaps it's a good time to play them.
"I am very happy with things in my first season at Purton. We train hard and work hard.
"It's the first season in the league for Winterbourne and the sides from the Bristol league always seem to be big and strong. We will be without top scorer Steve Tucker and central defender Lee Marshall, who are both suspended, but the lads that have come in have done well. It should be a great game."
Shrivenham, who gained a useful point in 1-1 draw at Ross last week, visit Malmesbury Vics, and could come away with three points from the bottom but one side.
Pewsey Vale, who scored eight in the Wiltshire Senior Cup game last week, will probably settle for half that total at home to visitors Letcombe.
Highworth Town will be hoping to capitalise on their 2-1 victory over Didcot last week when they visit fellow strugglers Almondsbury Town. They say one player doesn't make a team but since the arrival of lively striker Warren Fuller the Wiltshire side have started to take their chances and score a few goals.
Wootton Bassett visit Carterton Town, never an easy side to beat on their own ground, and Pete Yeardley's side will have to cut out their defensive errors that cost them three points against Abingdon United last week.
Fairford Town's defeat at Brackley last week would not have pleased their boss Mark Webb, as his side has slipped to fifth spot in the table although there are still just four points separating the top five sides. They entertain Southall Town on Saturday, and three points is a must to keep them in touch with the leaders.
Cirencester Academy visit the league's leading scorers, Yate Town.
