New Supermarine boss John Murphy hopes to keep his unbeaten league record firmly in -tact when he takes his side to Bedworth United tomorrow.
Supermarine have taken four points from six since Murphy's appointment earlier this month compared to just three from a possible 45 before his arrival.
Marine will remain bottom of the pile irrespective of tomorrow's result, but another three points will pull Murphy's troops ever closer to the pack.
The Southern League is widely regarded as one of the most unpredictable around.
But in a division of inconsistency, it is opponents Bedworth who really take the biscuit.
The Midlanders are either wonderful or woeful there is little middle ground.
United recently thumped Gloucester City 7-1 on their travels, before losing 4-0 at home to mediocre Shepshed just three days later.
The chances of Supermarine taking something from the game may depend on which Bedworth side turns up on the day.
Murphy is likely to keep faith in the side and the system that won a point against high-flying Weston last week.
Recent signings Paul Donnelly and Nick Beaverstock will continue to shield a back five, leaving Tom Jones free to provide the ammunition for a front two of Steve Bennett and Tate Hulbert.
The narrow formation means that winger Michael Silvanus may have to settle for a place on the bench alongside fringe players Tony Joyce and Jamie Garbutt.
Veteran playmaker Tom Jones has taken an unofficial assistant role at the club since the arrival of Murphy, and the former Swindon Town midfielder believes his new boss has the tactical nous to steer Marine to safety. Jones said:
"John clearly has a system that he wants to play, which is effectively a 5-2-1-1-1 formation. He wants to field a solid and disciplined unit and it's working.
"The new lads, Paul (Donnelly) and Nick (Beaverstock) have come in with a job to do. They are here to break up the play and give it to those players who can provide a creative spark.
"They both did brilliantly against Weston last week, and at the moment we're moving in the right direction."
Possible Marine line-up: Haines Roper, Jennings, Farrow, Davis, Jack Beaverstock, Donnelly, Jones Bennett, Hulbert. Subs Garbutt, Joyce, Silvanus
