THIS was a highly exciting game with both sides playing expansive rugby.
Frome led 24-13 at half-time, scoring three converted tries and a penalty, scrum half Gary Webster and centre Steve Gibson (2) the try scorers and winger Richard Maunder successful with the boot.
For Cooper-Avon winger Matt Glover scored a try and Rich Woolfood added two penalties and a conversion.
In the second half the visitors tightened their defence and after surviving some early Frome pressure began playing their best rugby of the season.
Scrum half John Cox reduced the deficit with a converted try and Cooper-Avon took the lead when Glover scored his second try which Woolfood converted.
However Frome came back strongly and in the last five minutes Maunder added two penalties to give his side victory and leave a dejected Cooper Avon side wondering when their luck will change.
The game between the two 2nd XVs saw Frome win by 19-0.
