More than 50 business and business support agency representatives attended a reception at Wilton House, Salisbury, to share ideas for improving business competitiveness and strength in Wiltshire and Swindon.

The reception was hosted by the Wiltshire and Swindon Economic Partnership and senior rep-resentatives from the South West of England Regional Development Agency were also been invited to provide the regional perspective.

A number of issues were raised d including access and transport, planning, pump-priming for the provision of small business units, innovative ideas to attract tourists back to the area, specific branding for the area, local supply chains and cross-border working.

John Cullum, WSEP's Chairman said: "We were really pleased to see so many people at the reception.

"As we know through our Partnership, the benefits of talking direct to businesses and business support agencies are huge and both WSEP and the South West RDA have taken a number of points for further consideration."
