Nationwide has won a National Customer Service Award, run by Energis and a national newspaper.
Steve Cowdry, spokesman for the building society, which has headquarters in Swindon, said: "We were one of more than 250 entrants for eight categories.
"Independent judges assessed the overall provision of service excellence, as well as looking at new and innovative approaches to delivering service.
"They also undertook extensive mystery shopping of all our distribution channels.
"In our submission, we focused on the member feedback log."
Tim Hughes, Head of Member Service said: "This highlights the progress we are making in delivering a better service proposition to our members, as well as providing a good mechanism for recognising our people."
Overall winner of the Award scheme was Majestic Wines, which has a major outlet in Gorse Hill, Swindon.
