CHRISTMAS trees are to shine throughout a village, thanks to community spirit and ingenuity.
More than two dozen trees have been placed in prominent Wroughton locations and decorated.
The lights were due to be switched on this evening.
Villagers came up with the idea last year, and also chipped in to raise the necessary money.
One of the organisers of the project, Tim Benson, said: "The switch-on will be accompanied by a Christmas show in the Ellendune Hall tonight, complete with silver band.
"We've put up 26 trees by the Ellendune shops, and a large one at the end of the Ellendune Centre itself.
"We just want to bring Christmas into Wroughton.
"The decorations we had before weren't particularly good, so last year we decided to have these trees, and we've gone on from there.
"This year's were put up by volunteers of all ages, and their help was particularly welcome!"
