in March, you kindly published a letter from me on the subject of the old Railway Museum building in Fleet Street.
I said it would be sad if the museum joined the list of buildings in the town falling into disrepair.
I concluded my letter by expressing scepticism of Coun Eley's assurance that the museum would not be allowed to fall into disrepair assurances from politicians are generally fairly worthless.
Two months later, I challenged the council to tell the people what plans it had for the museum building.
I am, therefore, not at all surprised that some eight months after receiving Coun Eley's assurances the building is still empty and no further towards being used for the good of the taxpayers of Swindon.
What a waste of a perfectly good building, and what a drain on the public purse. My cynicism appears to have been well justified.
