PROSPECT Hospice is gearing up for this year's Light-a-Life campaign.
The annual event, being held for the third time, invites members of the public to remember their loved ones by sponsoring a light on the Prospect Christmas tree.
The grand switch-on will be held on December 8, and the event organisers are keen to hear from anyone who wants to help raise funds for the charity.
Last year the tree lit up with almost 1,000 lights, raising £6,000.
This year's service begins at 6pm, with Wroughton Silver Band and Swindon Choral Society providing the music.
All are welcome to join in the carol singing celebrations and feast on mince pies and mulled wine afterwards.
For those who sponsor a light on the tree, the name of the person whose life is celebrated will be written in the Light-a-Life celebration book and placed in the Prospect Hospice chapel, where it can be viewed both on the evening and throughout the year.
Lights are lit for a minimum donation of £5 each and a special Light-a-Life Christmas card can be sent to either yourself or to a relative or friend as a gift.
To Light-a-Life, contact the Prospect fundraising office on Swindon 815142 or send an e-mail to fundraising@prospect-hospice.org.uk.
