SWINDON Stormers fielded three first teamers but lost out 22-17 to Oxford side Wheatley.
Swindon opened their account in the first five minutes with Cocker sweeping past the home backs, after a well-worked move. Excellent running from Milo and Sear saw Swindon make further inroads and the onslaught saw the inevitable try by Whatcott in the corner, his first try for the club, making the score 10-0 to the visitors after the first 25 minutes.
But Wheatley hit back and eventually crossed the line and convert to reduce their arrears to just three.
Swindon then let their opponents create further chances and, two minutes before half-time, Wheatley scored a second, to grab the lead at the interval, 12-10.
A great individual solo run by Westall, opening up the defence, gave him a score that he converted himself to regain the advantage for Swindon.
But back came Wheatley, Swindon again struggling to match them for pure aggression in the forwards, and another try levelled it at 17-17.
With just five minutes remaining, the home team grabbed another touchdown to clinch a deserved win.
