TV historian Adam Hart-Davis is asking What the Victorians did for us in a Christmas family lecture at Swindon's Steam museum.
The presenter is visiting the museum, which charts the story of the people who made the Great Western Railway great, at 6pm on December 8. The special lecture is aimed at adults and children and takes its name from Adam's acclaimed BBC series.
Adam will examine some of the inventions pioneered by the Victorians.
He will also be giving a talk on his favourite Victorian the founder of the Great Western Railway Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
After the lecture there will be an opportunity for book signings and a chance to meet the author. Tickets will cost £5.50 for adults, £3.50 for children and £4 for senior citizens.
