A SWINDON charity has been helped by a £1,000 grant from the Co-operative Society.
The cash has been handed over to Home Start, a support group for parents who find it difficult to cope with bringing up a family.
The charity has been running for several years, but escalating running costs have thrown its future into doubt.
Home Start organiser Jan Aylward welcomed the money.
She said: "The group is a stepping stone into the wider community for parents who may feel isolated or depressed.
"They may feel unable to join mainstream groups but are able to gradually build up their confidence by coming to our gatherings."
The money is allocated as part of the Oxford, Swindon and Gloucester Co-op's dividend scheme.
Application forms for the scheme are available by calling (01865) 249241.
