Jim Whitley returns to the County Ground tonight determined to prove he is no loan flop.
The Wrexham defender (above) spent a brief spell with Town last season as former boss Andy King desperately tried to turn the club's fortunes around.
Sadly for King and the player himself, Whitley made just two starts before injury intervened. Although he recovered, the defender returned to Manchester City feeling he had not really had the chance to show Town what he could do.
He said: "I enjoyed my time at Swindon. Malcolm Crosby and the lads were very good to me. I just think it was unfortunate that the fans didn't really get to see the best of me.
"I was played out of position on the left side of midfield and then got injured.
"I was only there a month, but was glad they stayed up.
"I think we've been playing better than our results suggest. We were all over Hereford in the cup and still managed to lose."
