Danny Invincible feels nice-guy Swindon Town need to turn nasty.
The Australian is determined that lowly Wrexham will be put to the sword but only if Town abandon their charitable approach.
While the season has brought wins over Reading and Brentford, as well as draws with Brighton and Wycombe, the Australian knows that sub-standard performances against lesser sides has cost Town dear.
He said: "When we get on top in games we have to start punishing teams.
"If you show a team mercy in a game then there is always the chance that they will come back and get something.
"Let's be a touch more ruthless."
Invincible said it was not a case of showing disrespect to other sides but Town's players had to start playing to their potential whatever their opponents' league position.
He said: "It's time we started getting maximum points from the games we are expected to win.
"We can't keeping looking back and moaning how we should have won. You have to go out there and do it."
The Aussie knows that Wrexham will provide a stern test and the Town fans will be looking to see if the players can build on their impressive showing against Brighton.
He said: "Wrexham will be tough.
"We can't afford to be complacent in any shape or form.
"It is important to be focused right from the very start.
"If the other team get an early goal it gives them a lift and makes our job much tougher.
"But if we can get the three points from this game in hand, then it puts a little bit more distance between us and those teams towards the bottom of the league."
The corresponding clash last season was a happy one for the Australian. He netted Town's opener in a 2-2 draw, his fifth goal in four games.
But the former Marconi Stallions man is more concerned with this season's tally.
He said: "It was good to get on the scoresheet again the other week and you just have to keeping working hard and hopefully the chances will come."
