THE CHILDREN'S ward at Princess Margaret Hospital has a new scanner thanks to a donation by the Beaufort Arms Rifle Club.
The club raised £700 by holding a sponsored rifle shooting which was enough to buy a new scanner for the ward.
The Beaufort Arms Rifle Club has been going for about 20 years and members shoot in the Swindon District League. There are presently 16 members and there are twice weekly meetings at the Beaufort Arms in Wootton Bassett.
Member Eric Matthews said: "Each year we try to raise money for different things and have a sponsored shooting.
"We decided to raise money for the children's ward because it is a very worthy facility."
The club presented the scanner to the children's ward on Saturday afternoon.
