CONGRATULATIONS to Eric Sabin for finally getting off the mark at the County Ground.

The Frenchman proved that there is more to his game than being clattered in the penalty area. Two goals in as many games. A new scoring legend!

Truly magnifique (sounds like a good headline).

Only a couple of weeks ago I was talking to Juan Cobian about the subject of foreigners in English football,

He said that the common perception was that players from abroad were difficult and reluctant to pull their weight when things were going wrong.

No-one can accuse Eric of either.

Ever since arriving at the club, the former Wasquehal man has conducted himself superbly.

He has never used post match interviews to blame other players for his own short-comings or rant a list of excuses.

I think most of the local media lads and lasses would agree that Eric is one of the most affable chaps at the club. His English has come on leaps and bounds and the cynics might say his use of language has eclipsed one or two of his British-born team mates (only joking lads!).

Keep the goals flowing now Eric.

Not too sure about the goal celebrations with Rockin Robin though...
