CORSHAM Town manager Mark Godley has received a £50 fine and a slap on the wrist from the Wiltshire Football Association after being charged with bringing the game into disrepute.
Godley, who has had no previous disciplinary problems in two years in charge of The Southbank outfit, was reported to county officials after Corsham's 3-3 home draw with fellow Screwfix Direct League high-flyers Exmouth Town on October 6.
Goals from John Freegard, Matt Pratley and Andy Wicks had given Godley's men a handy cushion before the visitors struck back to level with three goals in the final 20 minutes.
The Corsham boss became incensed when the referee first handed Exmouth a lifeline by awarding a controversial spot kick and then added eight minutes of injury time.
The visitors equalised with the last kick of the game.
Godley confirmed he will accept his punishment, but was disappointed at the decision of the referee to report him to the FA.
He said: "To be fair the referee's report did not accurately detail the situation and I wrote a letter saying there were mitigating circumstances.
"I'm disappointed to get a £50 fine and be warned about my future conduct. Obviously I've been sent off a couple of times as a player but have never been in trouble in my time as a manager.
"It was pretty harsh given the referee has failed to disclose the full events, but the FA have seen fit to make their judgement and I am going to accept it."
Godley felt the referee's report to the FA should have included the fact he apologised for his actions after the match.
He said: "The problem was that the ref played eight minutes of stoppage time and they scored with the last kick. I simply couldn't see where he got the time from.
"After it had all cooled down I went into the referee's room after the game and apologised. That fact was not included in the report submitted by the referee or his two assistants.
"In fact, their reports were exactly the same, word for word, and it was difficult to argue with three identical reports."
