A GOAL three minutes from time robbed Swindon Supermarine of three priceless points as Mangotsfield snatched a point at Hunt Copse last night.
John Murphy's men led twice, but eventually surrendered to a late salvo from the Bristol side.
It was another heartbreaking climax for the Marine faithful, particularly after their side had acquitted themselves so well for long spells of the match.
Marine enjoyed the better start and grabbed a deserved lead on 26 minutes when Peter Macklin signed from Bath City on Monday was chopped down in the box by Mangotsfield midfielder Mark Summers.
Another recent acquisition, former Cheltenham midfielder Keith Knight, made no mistake from the spot to put the basement boys in the ascendancy.
Murphy's charges continued to call the tune, and could have increased their advantage but for poor finishing from Macklin and Tate Hulbert.
With the interval looming, Mangotsfield hauled themselves back into the contest.
Marine keeper Paul Haines clearly lacking confidence after a poor display at Bedworth on Saturday misjudged an Adam Sims corner and John Crowley was on hand to poke home from close range.
Both sides created good chances after the break, with Nick Brooks going close for Mangotsfield and Hulbert again squandering a fine opportunity to breach Dave Dyson's goal.
With 15 minutes remaining, the hosts eventually regained the lead and looked on course for maximum points.
Steve Bennett's right-wing corner was met by Macklin, Dyson saved well, but defender Adie Roper charged in to force the ball over the line.
With time running out, Mangotsfield threw everything at Marine and with just three minutes left on the clock, the pressure told.
Marine defender Steve Davis could only partially clear a Danny Hallett corner, and Sims was on hand to fire home the rebound from the edge of the box to rob John Murphy's men of a much deserved victory.
