A GIFTED young musician who is personal harpist to Prince Charles, will be performing in Calne on Sunday.
In May 2000 21-year-old Catrin Finch was chosen by the Prince of Wales to be one of his official musicians, topping off an enviable career for someone so young.
She will be guest of honour in the town on Sunday when she features in the second concert of this year's Marden House Recital Series.
Ms Finch, who comes from Wales, started playing the instrument at the age of eight and moved to London to study at the Purcell School of Music, and later the Royal Academy.
Ms Finch has given numerous solo performances on radio, television and has twice been a finalist in the Audi Junior Musician Competition.
She won first prize in the junior section of the 1991 World Harp Festival and second prize in the senior section in 1994, at the age of 14.
Her talents have taken her all over the world and she has performed at the 1990 World Harp Congress in Paris, and toured Denmark and the USA promoting Welsh Music.
On leaving the National Youth Orchestra in 1996, she was awarded the Arthur Bulgin medal for her outstanding contribution. This has revived an ancient Royal tradition, last granted to the famous Welsh harpist, John Thomas.
The concert takes place at Marden House at 7.30pm on Sunday and tickets cost £8.50 and £7.50 for concessions.

Calne Artists Group will also be exhibiting at Marden House this weekend as part of a joint arts venture.
