AN Amnesty International campaign called A Fairer World, A World Without Torture has caught the imagination of students at Commonweal School.
As part of this campaign, youth and student groups have been invited to enter a competition and Commonweal School Amnesty International group's competition entry is called The Justice Tree.
Students and staff of the school have been asked to write their ideas for a fairer world onto cards which are then being tied to the tree, which is on display in the reception area of the school.
It is hoped that the tree will afterwards be planted in the Town Gardens, for which permission is being sought, or in the school grounds.
The group involved has been promoting the campaign within the school and this has included presenting an assembly to all year groups outlining Amnesty's work and how they can be involved.
The tree was donated by Jardinerie Garden Centre.
