AN EMPHATIC 'no' is the response from Tisbury people to the prospect of a 75-home estate being built in their village.
More than 230 people crowded into Nadder Middle School hall last week for a meeting about the proposals for land between Weaveland Road and Hindon Lane.
Brian Dalton, chairman of Tisbury Parish Council, told them that the planning inspector appointed to the inquiry into the Salisbury District local plan has recommended that 2.7 hectares be set aside for about 75 houses - 25 per cent of which should be low-cost - and 1.4 hectares for employment units.
