YOUNG people with multiple sclerosis are hopeful that their aim of having a specialist nurse in Salisbury is nearer being realised, after MP Robert Key promised to help.

The Bodysnatchers Club, formed by younger members of the Salisbury MS group, met the Salisbury MP to outline the problems they face every day.

Now he plans to write to local health fundholders - Wiltshire Health Authority, South Wiltshire Primary Care Trust and Salisbury District Hospital - to pursue the Bodysnatchers' plea for an MS nurse.

The nearest specialist MS nurse is in Southampton and there is no MS nurse in the whole of Wiltshire.

"There are well over 100 people in the Salisbury area suffering from MS," Mr Key said.

"Young people's needs are different from older people's. Many of them have young children. Many have had their lives ruined in mid-career."
