I HOPE that you will allow me to make an appeal to your readers.
Would you consider volunteering for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance Appeal?
We would like to hear from people who are well-organised and self-motivated, and who are willing to help secure the future of the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
The Wiltshire Air Ambulance Appeal is looking for committed and enthusiastic volunteers to fill the vacancy of regional organiser in, and the posts of area organisers in, Kennet's main towns Devizes, Marlborough and Pewsey.
Many patients have been rescued by the air ambulance helicopter and know the value of the service.
Your help in supporting the appeal will assist in ensuring that this essential service will continue for many years to come.
The role of the regional organiser is to oversee the work of local organisers in their area and town.
The local organisers are responsible for liaising with community groups, attending local events and organising collections in town centres and at local superstores to raise money for the appeal.
These vacancies are open to anyone with good communication skills, and who likes a challenge and has the time and energy to be an effective volunteer in the field.
Last year, the North Wiltshire regional organiser and his area organisers and their teams of collectors managed to raise more than £10,000 for the appeal.
Please write to me at the Wiltshire Air Ambulance Appeal, Dorman House, Malmesbury Road, Chippenham, Wiltshire SN15 5LN or phone (01249) 463431.
