A CHRISTMAS fair held by a Trowbridge solicitors firm has raised over £1,000 for a cancer charity in memory of a staff member.
After Sue Miller died in April, her colleagues at Sylvester & Mackett decided that they would hold the memorial fair in support of the Macmillan Cancer Relief fund.
Many people went to the event on Saturday to show their support and to spend their money.
Office manager, Susan Roberts, said: "It went very, very well.
"We are absolutely delighted that so many people came along to the fair and that we raised so much."
Money is still coming in to the office and the exact amount raised for the charity is not yet known.
On offer were home made cakes, pickles and preserves. There was also a prize raffle and a guess the weight of the cake competition.
Local businesses gave their support and donated over 35 raffle prizes, including a mobile phone.
Town crier Trevor Heeks announced the fair to people in the town.
The company has, in previous years, run a stall at the fair held by Dorothy House Hospice in Winsley. Last year the stall raised £700 for the hospice.
