SCHOOLGIRL Ellie Langtree and 92-year-old Elizabeth Wood will present a posy of flowers and a gift to the Queen when she visits Malmesbury next Friday (December 7).
Ten-year-old Ellie, a pupil at Malmesbury Primary School, will meet the royal guest outside the abbey, where she is scheduled to arrive at 3.15pm, following lunch in the town hall at 1.15pm.
Mrs Woods, of Common Road, Malmesbury, who has been a member of the congregation since 1969, will present the gift to the Queen inside the abbey.
Both were selected to represent the abbey and Ellie, of Barley Close, Malmesbury, said she was nervous and excited ahead of the big day.
"I am looking forward to meeting the Queen in real life and giving her the flowers," said Ellie, whose parents, Mike and Alice, are taking her out to buy a dress for the occasion at the weekend.
"I will feel a bit shy but I will be really happy and I'll be a bit nervous but I'll also be very excited."
Mrs Woods, who is a member of the WRVS, is part of the abbey's flower arranging team. She said she has prepared plenty of things to say to the VIP guest.
"I will say that I am very honoured to give a gift to the Queen on behalf of the abbey," said Mrs Woods.
