One of the newest bands to emerge on the local music scene is Babyfood.

The Bath-based band have wasted no time in compiling a four-track demo CD, and are already busy working on their forthcoming debut album, which will be released on Mullet Records, a Washington DC-based independent label.

Judging from the four track demo, the band's sound is essentially rock, but with clever use of tempo.

Tracks such as The Greatest Day tend to have a gentle, melodic intro, which gathers pace and leads nicely into the rest of the more upbeat number.

Regular pauses, leaving you with perhaps just a guitar or drum solo, work well, and the lyrics, combined with the overall tune, produce a reasonably memorable track overall.

Tracks such as Airborne prove the band are versatile enough to slow the whole feel of their set right down, as well as bang out the more traditional thumpers.

The band produce all their own material, and can still be found doing the local circuit.
