THE number of complaints against police officers in Wiltshire has remained almost static despite the number of investigations into assaults going up.
Latest figures for July to September show 73 complaints were made against police officers compared to 71 for the same period last year.
But 59 of the complaints are still under investigation with the remaining 14 either having been withdrawn or informally resolved.
Complaints over the two-month period included claims of assault, mishandling of property, harassment, unlawful arrest, incivility and perjury.
No complaints of racial discrimination or sexual assault were made during the period.
The figures will be discussed at the Wiltshire Police Authority complaints committee meeting on Monday.
