THE army major arrested in connection with allegations of cheating on ITV's Who Wants to be a Millionaire has said he was pleased to give his version of events.
Major Charles Ingram, 38, was arrested along with his wife, Diana, 37, at their home in Easterton last Thursday.
A third person, 51-year-old Tecwen Whittock, of Cardiff, was also arrested.
Major and Mrs Ingram were later released on police bail and ordered to report back to a central London police station in December.
Mr Whittock was also bailed and ordered to report back in February next year.
Major Ingram said on Friday: "I cannot make any comment on what happened yesterday other than to say it was the first opportunity we had to put across our side of the story which I am delighted to have done."
"Our time will come when we can talk to you more freely but at the moment we are unable to."
Suspicions were raised after coughs were heard in the audience during the programme, which has never been broadcast.
Programme maker, Celador, called in the Metropolitan police and refused to honour the cheque for £1m that Major Ingram has always maintained he won fairly.
The major then issued a writ against Celador for the £1 million plus interest and legal costs.
The army major is due to report back to Wiltshire police on Tuesday in connection with alleged discrepancies in an insurance claim.
The £30,000 claim was made for items allegedly taken in a burglary just a few weeks after Major Ingram, his wife and their three daughters moved to Easterton.
