SKURRAY'S WILTSHIRE LEAGUE: TROWBRIDGE fought back from an early reverse to secure the points in this Premier Division clash.

Biddestone caught Trowbridge on the break after only three minutes. With many in the crowd appealing for offside, Steve Healy gave the home side an early lead after rounding Trowbridge goalkeeper Chris Vaughan.

Trowbridge had the better of the first half and equalised after 15 minutes. Following some good midfield play, Gordon Saunderson gained ground on the right and and chipped the Biddestone goalkeeper from just inside the penalty area.

For the remainder of the first half Trowbridge always looked the more likely team to score, with some good positive crosses from left winger Adam Nunn.

Biddestone forced two corners, one of which went straight across the face of the goalmouth but nobody was there to apply the required finish.

Trowbridge lost control of the game for a while in the second half and Biddestone nearly took the lead after 60 minutes, Chris Vaughan brilliantly pushing a shot over the bar with a reflex save.

Trowbridge substitute Mike Little came on with 10 minutes remaining and his extra pace put pressure on the Biddestone defence and he was in the right place to score the winner from close range after Jerad O'Pray cut the ball back following a good run with only five minutes left.

Second in the table Devizes Town Reserves were beaten 5-2 at home by Wroughton.

Wroughton's top marksman Glenn Armstrong, who has been attracting a few Nationwide League scouts, opened the scoring after just a couple of minutes. Sean Clarke added a second to give Wroughton a 2-0 lead at the interval.

In the second half Armstrong completed his hat-trick and Stuart Morse scored with a neat near post header, and for the home side Spencer Wilmot and Scott Sartin pulled a couple of goals back.

Bradford Town continued their recent good run with a 3-1 away win over Cricklade Town, Steve Roddy and Robbie Simmonds giving them an early two-goal lead. Martin Swaddon pulled a goal back for Cricklade after the break but almost immediately Charlie Powell added a third for Bradford.

Westbury United Reserves picked up a useful three points at Purton, beating the home side 3-0. Stuart Barnes (2) and Nick Wilkins did the damage.

There is no satisfying Shrewton United's appetite for goals. They were in action in the third round of the Addkey Senior Cup and ran out 6-1 winners over Corsham Town Reserves.

Shrewton's goals came from Dean Foot, Brian Blake (2), Rick Casey, Lee Corbin and Jessie Walters. Corsham's goal came from Tom Smith.

Unlucky to be 3-1 down, Corsham dominated the start of the second half.

Shrewton then lost Chris Withers, who was sent off for a second bookable offence, but the 10 men added two more goals.
