Lowly Calne Town will take a welcome break from their turbulent league programme, when they entertain Street in the Les Phillips Cup tomorrow.
Paul Rankin's struggling outfit have collected just one point and three goals from their last eight fixtures form that has seen the Bremhill View outfit plummet to second from bottom of Screwfix Division One.
Rankin sees tomorrow's cup fixture as an ideal distraction and a chance to prepare for the crucial league games ahead. The Calne boss said:
"Our midweek performance against Frome was a vast improvement, and we were unlucky to lose 1-0. The Street game gives us an opportunity to continue the improvement and prepare for big games over the coming weeks.
"Street are a good, well organised side, but our cup performances have been generally good this season, and if we can continue to play like we did in the week, we will have a decent chance of getting a result."
First team regulars Jamie Butler, Craig Tuck, Matt Peters and Andy Towers are still nursing injuries, so Rankin is likely to keep faith in the side that performed valiantly against high-flying Frome on Tuesday.
One player definitely missing is striker Julian Alexander, who has rejoined old club Devizes after an unsuccessful five-month spell at Bremhill View.
