THE next Vectra due here around next May doesn't look so very different from the outside (see top photo).

It's the INSIDE which wins the admirers, Vauxhall insiders believe.

'Keep it simple' is the key to the elegant design, which echoes the interior of the Range Rover we showed you last week. The maker reckons this will concentrate buyers' interests on the view inside which is, after all, where we spend our driving time.

But that upmarket strip of polished wood along the fascia and continuing along the doors is merely the crowning highlight of the air of quality which Vauxhall has given its next contender in the repmobile stakes.

The really important factors are those which improve the driving like the switches sited in the door as well as on the central console, and the comfort of the seats which are bigger and softer.
