Refuse collections will take place on the usual days over the holiday period except for Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
All householders whose refuse is normally collected on a Tuesday or Wednesday are asked not to put their bin bags out on December 25 or 26 but instead to put them out on New Year's Day or Wednesday, January 2, when a double collection will be made.
The household recycling centre at Barnfield Road will be open between 8am and 4.30pm every day over the holiday period except for Christmas Day, when it will be closed all day.
The doorstep recycling round will not operate between December 24 and January 1 inclusive.
Residents who participate in the scheme are asked to store as much as their eligible recyclable waste as possible until their next collection.
During the first week of the New Year, the recycling round will collect cans from Greenmeadow on January 2, from Nythe and The Mall on January 4 and from Upper Stratton on January 8. Paper will be collected from Coleview and Penhill on January 3 and from Wanborough and Old Town on January 7.
