PRIMARY school children in North Bradley are learning how to keep safe on the roads as part of a month long awareness campaign.
Pupils at North Bradley CE School are learning about safety issues at different levels according to their age.
Headteacher Shiel Taylor said: "The children are enjoying it as well as learning something. We are trying to make it fun for them."
All the children have learnt about puffin crossings and how to safely use them.
The older children have had pedestrian training on the roads and some will be doing a traffic survey outside the school later in the month.
The idea for the awareness month was sparked off by traffic problems outside the school. It is on a narrow street which gets congested.
There is a voluntary one-way system in operation and a drop-off zone for parents driving their children to school
Mrs Taylor said: "We are hoping to encourage more people to abide by this.
"We would also like to see more children walking to school, it would ease congestion and promote good health and a cleaner environment."
The school is running a competition for the children to design a sign for the drop-off zone. It will be judged by school governors.
