VILLAGERS in Semington appealing for developers to showcase their plans for a 98-house development, could have their wishes granted.
Residents are worried the former Poundbury-style plans, outlined by former developer Merchant Lands, on land off High Street will have changed dramatically since last year.
Semington Parish Council has been in discussions with Wilcon Homes for more than a year in relation to the development which will include a new village hall, sports facilities and a play park.
The former designer-homes plan, based on Prince Charles' Poundbury community in Dorset, was showcased to the village last March, with 423 residents giving the project their approval in a secret ballot.
But since Wilcon Homes took over the project many feared the Poundbury-style designs would be altered.
Land manager at Wilcon Homes Western, Gareth Scannel, said the scheme included aspects of the Poundbury development but villagers would be consulted about the plans in the next few months.
He said: "The Wilcon Homes scheme will be an attractive development drawing on the successes of Poundbury, while ensuring the design remains true to Wiltshire.
"Similarly, like Poundbury, a variety of house types are proposed, including a high proportion of terraced properties.
"We intend to make a full presentation within the next couple of months."
Plans were submitted to West Wiltshire District Council earlier this year but planning officers asked for more detailed blueprints to be drawn-up.
Semington Parish Council chairman Robert Oglesby said the village hall and sports facilities were vital to the village but said they still wanted to be consulted on the plans.
He said: "The plans soon started to change from what we voted on last year.
"In our view it is becoming more non-descript and not as unique as Poundbury."
