KEEN recyclers in Swindon are asked to be patient while some of the town's recycling sites get a makeover.
Swindon Services has just awarded new contracts to local companies to collect glass bottles, newspapers and magazines, food and drinks cans and textiles for recycling.
The 39 recycling sites included in the contracts are sited in supermarket car parks, community centres, pubs and shopping centres.
As part of the new contracts, many of the sites will be getting a facelift and new containers will be brought in to replace the old ones.
Recyclers are asked to be patient as there may be a small gap between the old containers being taken away and the new ones arriving at some of the sites.
Swindon Council's waste policy officer, Amelia Craighill, said: "Where a recycling container is temporarily absent, we would ask recyclers to take their materials home and try again another day.
"The changes we are making will improve Swindon's recycling facilities, which we hope will mean even more waste can be recycled," she added.
