MATTY HEWLETT enjoyed a storming performance against Wrexham and he is anxious to wreak more havoc at the JJB Stadium tomorrow.
The midfielder pulled the strings against the Red Dragons but he knows Wigan have the potential to provide Town with a much tougher examination.
The former Bristol City man believes it is only a matter of time before the big-spending Latics start to turn things around but hopefully not until next week.
He said: "It can't be too long before they start getting results because they've spent money and brought in some quality players.
Hewlett will have to pit his wits against the likes of Jeff Kenna, Matt Jackson and Paul Dalglish, but he is undaunted by the challenge.
"Hopefully, we have picked the right time to play them and if we play like we know we can then we are well capable of coming away with something."
However, results at Chesterfield and QPR came on the back of promising displays in the games immediately prior to both 4-0 thrashings so Hewlett is wary of making any bold predictions about the trip north.
He said: "It's true what they say about there being no easy games in football.
"We have won games people thought we wouldn't and lost matches we were expected to win.
"The gaffer wants to see more consistency in our play and results and all the lads are working hard to achieve just that."
Tickets for Town's FA Cup clash with Hereford United are now on sale. As in in last round of the competition, prices have been reduced. It will be £10 (adults), £5 (concessions) and £1 (juniors).
