DANNY INVINCIBLE wants to put right a worrying statistic against the Latics.
The 22-year-old netted his fifth goal of the campaign against Wrexham and is well on course to beat last year's total of 10.
But Invincible is all too aware that it is more than a year since he scored in back to back games.
He said: "I don't want such long gaps between each goal."
Invincible netted 10 goals in all competitions last season, nine of which were netted before the turn of the year.
He scored back to back in the games against Notts County and Cambridge but failed to repeat the feat.
"It really lifts your confidence if you can start a scoring pattern.
"I'm feeling confident and as long as we're creating chances then I believe I can tuck those chances away."
The Australian is hoping to make it two in two at the JJB against opponents he is surprised to see struggling.
He said: "At the start of the season I would have banked on Wigan being in the top six.
"But it hasn't happened for them yet and we have to go up there and take advantage of that."
With four points banked from a possible six, Invincible said the players were happy but it was difficult to tell what sort of 'form' Town were in.
He said: "I don't know whether we've had a good spell or a bad spell yet this season. We haven't really put enough results together to be one or the other.
"I suppose Wigan are similar in that they haven't found any consistency but at least we've managed to bag a few more points."
Invincible is likely to pair up with Eric Sabin in attack once again and the Aussie-French combination is starting to click.
Invincible said: "It's not been easy. I've been played in several positions and Eric's been out injured but I think we've done alright in the last couple of games and you slowly start to build an understanding.
"Let's hope we're both celebrating some more goals at Wigan.
"Another three points would probably push us into the top half of the table where we all want to be."
Ticket prices for tomorrow's clash at the JJB Stadium are as follows: £13 (adults) and £8 (juniors).
It is a pay on the day fixture.
