Whatever the verdict on the Front Garden, Terry King and his loyal supporters will have won a moral victory.
For almost four years they have devoted their time, energy, tenacity and dedication to the protection and conservation of a panorama of outstanding natural scenic beauty.
They have "stood up to be counted" and to challenge the wheels of power and business interests. They have "been there for us", that is, all the people in our community who truly care about the preservation and husbandry of our rich and pleasant land.
For all this I thank them and applaud them for their deep concern about the rapidly diminishing contours of our treasured countryside.
I understand that Terry King and his stalwart committee are to continue their fight!
I wholeheartedly thank them for the stand they have taken to preserve the environment in which they live, that future generations do not find themselves living in a concrete jungle deprived of nature's nurturing ambience.
