The Evening Advertiser Christmas toy appeal has been given a boost with a generous donation from the Co-op.
The Old Town store donated 15 new toys worth £100 to the appeal, run in conjunction with Swindon Rotary Club.
Store manager Kevin Swan said: "The campaign was run last year and it generated a high degree of interest from all our customers.
"It provides an excellent opportunity for people in Swindon to make a contribution to an extremely worthwhile cause. It means we can add a touch of happiness to others at Christmas."
The Co-op is just one of many businesses collecting donations for the appeal.
Stroud and Swindon Building Society also have collection boxes at various branches in Swindon.
Mike Davies, manager of the Regent Circus branch, said: "One appeal box was collected this morning and that was almost full."
And EMI human resources manager Anne Watkis said: "I look in the collection box each morning and something new has been added.
"There are a few puzzles, construction kits and a puppet.
"The appeal is great because most of us are fortunate enough to be able to buy nice presents for our children at Christmas. But there are an awful lot who aren't. If we can help others it must be good."
As the donations roll in we thank you for your generosity but ask that you donate new gifts only, as used toys will not be distributed among the beneficiaries.
